First Saturday And E
CHESTER, NJ — Residents of both Chester Borough and Township can recycle their electronic waste on Saturday, Aug. 5.
The event on Saturday is happening from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chester Township’s Department of Public Works building on 65 Furnace Road.
This twice-monthly event, held on the first Wednesday and Saturday of each month, allows residents of both the borough and township to dispose of electronic recycling items that are not permitted to be thrown away.
There will be someone at the garage to assist you when bringing in your e-waste, and proof of residency will be required.
Accepted electronic items include computers, keyboards, scanners, fax machines, DVD players, cell phones, stereos, televisions, VCRs, and game consoles.
Electronic household items such as corded carpet sweepers, bread makers, microwave ovens, mixers, radios, toasters, landline phones, irons, clocks, hair dryers, and vacuum cleaners without bags are also permitted for drop off.

Residents can also call 973-829-8006 to make an appointment to drop off electronics at the MCMUA facility on Gold Mine Road, off Route 206.
