Feb 21, 2025Soft Play & Kate Nash collaborate on new single 'Slushy' | Mystic Sons
After making a triumphant return last year with their highest-charting album to date, UK punk duo SOFT PLAY are back with a bigger, bolder vision. On the 18th April, the band will release 'HEAVIER JELLY', an expanded edition of 'Heavy Jelly', featuring six new tracks that push the album’s wild energy into even stranger, more experimental territory.
Leading the charge is the fierce new single 'Slushy', featuring Kate Nash, which officially premiered via BBC 6Music. A raucous fusion of proto-punk and garage rock, the track crackles with raw energy as Nash and SOFT PLAY’s Isaac Holman trade biting, sweetly savage call-and-response vocals. The two previously worked together on ‘Telephobia’ from Isaac’s Baby Dave project, and their chemistry is undeniable once again.
SOFT PLAY on 'HEAVIER JELLY', “These songs are the bastard children of Heavy Jelly, strange experimentations and delusions that didn’t fit the mould.”
